The Disability Confident scheme supports employers to make the most of disabled people’s talents. The scheme has 3 levels with different commitments. You must complete each level before moving on to the next.
The first is Level 1: Disability Confident Committed
As an example, Level 1 employers:
- challenge attitudes towards disability
- increase understanding of disability within their organisation
- remove barriers for disabled people and those with long-term health conditions
- make sure that disabled people have equal opportunities to fulfil their potential
