Accessibility Training

Upskill your employees by training them to plan and produce accessible content. We offer advanced accessibility training tailored to a range of teams and roles.

We offer several different workshop formats which can be adapted to your needs. These can be delivered online or in-person (depending on location).

1-day content accessibility training

Our 1-day training gives teams a comprehensive understanding of disability and accessibility. Our goal is to help you become more confident with accessibility and using best practices. You’ll also have time and support from our expert.

We use a mix of exercises, group discussions and presenter learning. This gives trainees practical techniques and tools for their daily work.

Overview:

  • 1-day training for up to 16 employees online or in-person (depending on location).
  • invite whole teams or relevant roles from multiple teams.
  • understand the social model of disability through lived experience.
  • leave with a comprehensive understanding of accessibility best practices. From plain English to colour contrast to captions.
  • engage with interactive learning using a mix of presenting, exercises, and discussions. All guided by an expert throughout the day.
  • access to accessibility resources toolkit, course materials and transcript.

2-day bespoke content accessibility course

We tailor our 2-day accessibility course to your organisation’s content and goals. Our content accessibility expert will then tailor the course content to your organisation. Day 1 teaches you best practices. We use examples from your content, website and social media accounts.

Day 2 includes editing exercises to make your content and documents more accessible. It also includes demonstrations of assistive technology. This helps you understand more about the experiences of disabled customers and colleagues.

Overview:

  • 2-day training for up to 16 employees online or in-person (depending on location).
  • get a comprehensive understanding of best practices and in-depth review of your accessibility.
  • decide which topics to include and share documents to tailor your organisation.
  • get a brief introduction to assistive technologies and accessibility tools.
  • leave with a co-produced plan for after the training.
  • access to accessibility resources toolkit, course materials and transcript.

Bespoke training packages

Our goal is to raise disability awareness and educate as many people as possible. We want organisations to be supported to do this and to build a culture of disability inclusion.

If our standard services do not meet your needs, we can work with you to create customised training that does.

Disabled consumer research

Understand how disabled people use your products and services. Doing research will help you find any barriers in the user experience so that you can remove them.

Scope’s research panel has access to more than 2,000 disabled people and their families. All with wide range of access needs. They can help you understand the different challenges disabled people experience.

We can arrange, recruit and facilitate:

  • short surveys
  • in-depth interviews online
  • small online focus groups
  • customer journey testing
  • user experience testing

We’ll give you expert advice on the best way to get actionable insight. Together, we can build a project plan tailored to your objectives.

Research with disabled people

Web accessibility audits

Get an assessment of your website against international accessibility standards. Our audits will find issues, tell you how to fix them and make suggestions on how to improve the overall user experience.

We can either review:

  • your entire website, or
  • a set number of your most important web pages
  • a set number of user journeys
