Disability monitoring toolkit Chapter 1

Introduction

What you will learn in this chapter

  • The goals of this toolkit.

Organisations collect data on different groups of employees. This toolkit focuses on disability monitoring for staff. Our goal is to help you improve the data you collect on disabled employees.

Some of the information in this toolkit might help you with collecting data for other groups. For example:

  • job applicants
  • volunteers
  • customers

But it’s important to note that processes will need to be personalised to these groups.

A note on intersectionality

Scope’s expertise is about disability. Of course, disabled people have other identities. These can impact their experiences as a disabled person. For example, if they hold several marginalised identities. You should always take this into account in monitoring surveys. You should consult best practice from relevant equality organisations.

Partner with us

We believe partnerships can help us build a more inclusive and accessible society. One where disabled people experience equality and fairness.

To do this, we partner with organisations to work on larger strategic goals together. For wider social change. For their customers. For their clients. For their employees.
